A plan, not a product.
Wildfire protection—or, more accurately, ember protection—is rarely a product problem. It's a systems problem. The most resilient properties combine defensible space, building hardening, preparedness, and ongoing maintenance. RedZone builds the plan, prioritizes the work, and sees it through.
What we actually do
One plan. Many trades. One accountable partner.
Most of the wildfire industry specializes in one part of the problem. Vent companies focus on openings. Retardant applicators focus on fuels. Sprinkler contractors focus on suppression. RedZone starts with the property itself. We use national standards and local expertise to identify the pathways most likely to ignite a building, then assemble a plan from the entire field of available solutions. That gives you one plan, many approaches, and one accountable partner.

Some of that work we perform ourselves. Some of it is completed by trusted specialists. A finished plan might include defensible space, building hardening, retardant treatments, or wildfire-defense systems. All of it is documented, because reducing risk and proving you reduced it are two different jobs—and you need both.

Everything around the building that can carry fire toward it—and especially the first five feet. IBHS and national guidance treat this immediate zone as the highest priority because it is where embers most often become ignitions. Beyond that, vegetation management and fuel reduction shape how much fire the property can support, and how readily it spreads.
The 0–5 ft noncombustible zone
Defensible space & fuel reduction
There is no single product that creates defensible space. This work may involve vegetation management, fuel reduction, grazing, targeted herbicide use, qualified fire-retardant treatments, or changes to how the site is maintained. The objective is always the same: less fuel, fewer ignitions, and a slower-moving fire.
The building
Homes are lost without the fire front ever reaching them. Embers travel ahead of it, land somewhere small, and are never seen. This layer closes the openings and replaces the materials that hold an ember long enough to matter.
Ember-resistant vents — attic, soffit, foundation, dryer
Most homes are not lost because the fire reaches the front door. They are lost when embers find a way in or ignite a vulnerable component. This layer addresses those pathways, and often delivers the greatest reduction in risk per dollar invested.

Four layers, in the order they matter.
The event itself
What can be deployed when a fire is actually coming. These are the systems people find most reassuring, and in the right conditions they are highly effective. But they are not a replacement for creating a defensible space or hardening the home.
Exterior sprinkler & wetting systems
Every item in this layer depends on a chain: water, pressure, power, warning, and someone or something to start it. A system worth having is built to a recognized wildfire standard, not improvisation. We partner only with systems that comply with the IBHS External Sprinkler Systems for Wildfire Defense standard.
Foam & gel-injected systems
The record
Knowing where you stand, being able to prove it, and keeping it true after the first season. Mitigation that nobody documented is, to an underwriter, mitigation that did not happen.
Scored site assessment with photographic record
A property is not finished. Vegetation grows back, retardant weathers, screens tear, and gutters fill. Layer 04 is what keeps the other three true.
Detection & monitoring

Recognized
It meets a national standard, listing, or widely accepted published guideline. If a retardant is part of the mitigation strategy, it must be approved for use on public lands and supported by environmental toxicity screening. We rely on independent standards—not marketing claims.

Proven
It has performed in real fires, or under credible independent testing that reflects real conditions. A demonstration video is not evidence. Neither is a decade of advertising.

Safe to live with
What we put on a property matters. Every product we consider for use—from vegetation retardants to fire-resistant wood and structural treatments—is supported by toxicological and environmental documentation. When two products perform the same job, we choose the gentler option. When the documentation isn't there, neither are we.

Accountable
The manufacturer states plainly what its product can and cannot do. Performance claims can be traced to a published test, a technical data sheet, or an independent evaluation. Because companies that oversell in the brochure tend to undersupport in the field.

Most of what is sold for wildfire does not make our short list.

What we will not tell you.
Plainly
That a house can be made fireproof. It cannot. Every honest person in this field is working on probability, exposure, and time — not certainty.
That one product is the answer. Retardant, for example, is one layer of four, and it does not replace clearing, hardening, or a fire department.
That a system will work no matter what. If it depends on water pressure, grid power, cell coverage, or someone being home to start it, you will hear that from us before you hear the price.
That you need everything. Sometimes the highest-value work on a property is a set of vent screens and an afternoon in the gutters. We would rather tell you that than sell you a system.
That mitigation guarantees an insurance outcome. Carriers make their own decisions. What we can do is make sure the work is real, documented, and presented in the form underwriting actually asks for.

Every plan starts with an assessment.
We can evaluate the property, build and execute the plan, and document the completed work for underwriting—through your own agent or one of our trusted partners. Then we review it annually, because risks, conditions, and properties change.
